Dr. Adrienne Hartgerink, DNP, CRNA, FAANA, Lt Col (ret) is the Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at Old Dominion University. She earned her BSN from James Madison University, MSN in Nurse Anesthesia from the Uniformed Services University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Minnesota. She has served on numerous AANA committees including as Education and Resolutions Chair, Nominations. AANA Wellness Curriculum Task Force and two terms on the AANA Health and Wellness Committee. Dr. Hartgerink has presented to numerous state and national audiences related to student and provider wellness and is the author of the chapter “Health and Wellness in Nurse Anesthesia Education” in the book A Resource for Nurse Anesthesia Educators. She is a long-time advocate of increasing diversity in the anesthesia workforce and has presented at two Diversity in Anesthesia Mentorship Workshops. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Hartgerink is a Past President of the Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetists, practices clinically at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and is a current member of the AANA Leadership Identification Committee.
