Luis A. Rivera, MBA, CAE is a healthcare association executive with more than 30 years of experience in different aspects of association management who has implemented several initiatives requiring strategic, financial, technical, and operational skills. He has extensive experience in board relations, governance, leadership development and staffing committees. He currently serves as the Senior Director of State Management Affairs for the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, in Rosemont, IL. Mr. Rivera has served in different roles during his tenure with AANA including Assistant to the Executive Director, Interim Director of Managed Care and Reimbursement, Director of Membership and State Associations, Director of Information Systems, and Senior Director - Executive Affairs. He has been certified as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) by ASAE - The Center for Association Leadership since 2000. In 2023, Mr. Rivera was selected to receive an Honorary Membership in the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology in appreciation for his many years of service at AANA and his commitment to the profession of nurse anesthesia.
