Debra Barber has been a CRNA for over 30 years with an experience in cardiac, pediatrics and outpatient surgery. She serves as faculty at Northern Kentucky University where she teaches Basic and Advanced Principles of Anesthesia, Leadership, Health Policy and Professional Aspects of Nurse Anesthesia.
Dr. Barber graduated from Baylor College of Medicine with a Masters of Science in Nurse Anesthesia. She returned to Baylor to complete a Doctor of Nursing Practice.
Debbie has served many leadership positions in the Kentucky Association of Nurse Anesthetists, including President in 2012. She continues to serve as the Federal Political Director for Kentucky. Dr. Barber also served on the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists (AANA) Board of Directors from 2014-2016. She has served on numerous committees for AANA, including chair of the Government Relations Committee. Most recently, Dr. Barber was a member of the AANA Fellows Selection Committee.
