Dr. Shannon Allen DNAP, CRNA, FAANA is a member of the New Mexico Association of Nurse Anesthetists and currently serving as president, and a member of the AANA Leadership Identification Committee. She is a CRNA from a rural town in New Mexico and part of an “all-CRNA” group, where she has practiced independently for more than two decades. Shannon has served on the NMANA Board of Directors for the past 7 years in many roles, including Board Director, GRC Chair, Federal Political Director, and President twice. During her time on the NMANA board, Shannon has lead the state through several legislative battles and the onset of the COVID pandemic in 2020.
Shannon has a great appreciation for the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology and the support the AANA provided to her team as they faced many challenges in the past years. She is currently serving on the Leadership Identification Committee in an effort to help identify leaders in our profession willing to lead with passion and effective leadership. Ensuring effective leaders for our association will warrant a successful team to represent us.
